How to contribute

Thank you for asking!
I think the best way for you to help add to this site is to email me (put something creative before the @ sign before cory.de and I'll get it, this is spam protection) lyrics to any songs, add evaluations of songs, of bands, and of course the different part about this page: the pedagogical hints which I hope will be rolling in any day now!
I list the methods in order of ease:

1. Easiest and best: If you have a mail program that will let you attach documents directly from your hard drive without uploading, such as Eudora, do it! I haven't used it but I believe you find something saying attachment and you type the filename or perhaps you browse among your files. All formatting saved, no cutting and pasting, beautiful!

2. Using Pine or similar: Upload your document to your email account in binary or ASCII using FTP (File Transfer Protocol -- sounds worse than it is) or Fetch (Mac=easy) and attach it to an email message to me. If you are in a computer lab, a consultant should be able to show you how to use FTP (now available in several graphical versions!) or Fetch.

2. Cut and Paste: Open your document in your word processing program, select all, and paste it directly into the body of an email message to me. Special characters may be lost, depending on what country you're in.

I will be adding everything manually, so feel free to add extra instructions. If you know of more music sites with songs I don't have on them, please tell me! If you have any ideas about organization, please say so!
Again, I am interested in:

  • Song texts
  • Uses for song texts
  • Evaluations of artists, descriptions of how they sound
  • Suggestions for better organization: how to make my page more user-friendly

I can only hope for people to send me lyrics they've already typed in for other purposes, but if you are generous enough to type things in freshly, colleagues worldwide will appreciate it!
Thanks for coming!

Remember, each text is for study and research purposes only!

If you can't find something, try my Other Music Sites, or google.com: enter a phrase from the song you want, something without umlauts or ß. Put quotes around it too to search for the exact phrase.
Sorry about the Popup windows that come -- they're from my free server and I can't stop them. Please use a popup-blocker -- Opera and Netscape (6? 7?) have them, and the Google toolbar for Internet Explorer has it too.

Maybe some of you reading this are native English speakers like me who live in some German-speaking country. If you live in Munich, you might be interested in a web forum I participate in with a guide to all kinds of topics that Expats in Germany find fascinating -- like where to get British and American foods in Germany / Munich, what's fun to do if you don't speak German or where you don't have to speak German to enjoy it. Where to see English language movies or get English language books, that kind of thing. It's called Toytown Munich - Munich's native English speaking crowd! If you're moving to Munich it's full of how to find an apartment and where are people meeting up. Many people in a foreign country get tired of having people practice their English on them -- at Toytown, it won't happen. All kinds of events and Stammtisches are listed here, classified ads for people moving to and from Munich, jobs wanted and offered, where to get good Mexican food in Munich, where to get a hot curry in Munich (Sitar!), etc. BTW, the site uses Invision Power Board and Movable Type. Androv Dessous is a German online lingerie shop run by a friend of mine. Specializing in bras for larger ladies..
